Unfortunately, my blog getting hacked started a whole sequence of events which had prevented me from blogging for such a long time, and then life got in the way. But I’m so glad to be back, as I have really missed it!!!
Blogging is a great outlet for your creative side to show. I know that many people still enjoy reading blogs, though vlogging has become increasing popular. Either way, it doesn’t really matter what your into, allowing yourself to be creative is key, and enjoying what you do.
During my 6 month hiatus, I took a break from a few other things too. Maybe mostly sub-consciously but after a while, it was definitely intentional. Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat were no more. Though I didn’t delete my accounts, I did not access these apps at all. I had found previously that time on social media can be a bit of a time warp. What feels like 5 minutes can actually end up being hours. Some well enjoyed, some time wasted, often resulting in feeling dissatisfied, disillusioned and worst of all… feeling unproductive. I quickly found some relief in actually taking a break from these sites and just living my life. Not relying on social media to keep up with friends. Not spending excessive amounts of time scrolling and therefore not comparing myself to others.
I think we all know social media is an amazing tool for social and business purposes, but taking a break from social media can be really healthy too. I love the reach of social media, blogs and vlogs, but I really like the closeness and comfort in just living life without smartphones or filters. What are you thoughts? Have you ever taking a break from your socials?
