A few days ago, I had a day off and I found myself wondering though the fabric shops of West London. I’m not particularly “arts or crafty” but I’ve found myself more recently thinking more and more about picking up a new hobby, so thought I’d let my mind wonder.
Goldhawk road in West London is famously known to be a little piece of paradise for those looking for the most luxurious or unusual fabrics for their projects.
Living in London, it’s so easy to forget how many wonderful things there are to see and do in the city, as we take so much of it for granted. On the other hand, people travel from far and wide to just to visit Goldhawk Road, and experience it’s delights.
Once you get here, you won’t be disappointed. Goldhawk Road is home to a dozen or so small, medium and large fabric shops. All adorned with reams upon reams of fabrics, textures and accessories. If you needed any inspiration, here is the place to find it.
Not being a veteran seamstress, nor any kind of good at knitting (though I love the idea) this is a good place to start. Goldhawk road is a great place to meet a friend, grab a coffee and go for a lovely Saturday morning stroll. You’re sure to find some inspiration here for design, dress-making and cosy autumnal knits.
