On my journey to discovering a healthier and fitter me, I rediscovered the power of water.
Hard to believe (I know) considering how often I advise people to make time to increase their water intake to avoid dehydration (myself included) I learnt a whole new and equally powerful thing about water… retention!!!
Not drinking enough will actually cause your body to hold on to the little water it has. Preserving existing fluid will actually increase the appearance of bloatedness and actually make you look bigger than you are… shocking!!! So if you actually drink an adequate amount of water not only would you benefit from improved hydration, concentration, better skin but the benefit of looking slimmer too!
I can’t think of a better reason to drink more, and for me it was definitely a calling point to action. I now keep a bottle of Volvic with me almost all the time and drink it as often as I can. I’ve worked out that 2litres a day are appropriate requirements for my body. There’s no denying it’s hard work and each day is a challenge. I have to make a conscious effort to drink plenty but one things for sure.. I’m not lugging this heavy bottle around with me all day…. *clears throat, takes a sip…
Reset, Replenish, Replace
