Breakfast.. the most important meal of the day. A good breakfast will literally set you up for the day like you couldn’t imagine. When I was younger, I really felt I had little to no time for breakfast and used to enjoy the fact I could go for hours in the morning without particularly feeling like I want to pass out!
When I think about it now, often my concentration was poor. Though my skin was never that bad I’m sure it could have been better and on my return from school I was ever so partial to an after school nap… which often had consequences for my sleep later that night.
So basically the knock on effect was REAL! Fast forward to today and I’m a little more well informed, and a lot more prepared. This morning, I woke up early with enough time to actually sit down and enjoy my breakfast leisurely. At the moment, I’m really enjoying having two hard boiled eggs and spinach and a slice of brown toast. I do a mini morning juice cleanse with hot lemon water too.
Now I come to think about it, the protein and carbohydrates are a great set up to the day and although by 11am, I’ll be ravenous – I’ve come to learn this is a good thing! My metabolism has been kick started and my body has used the fuel given to it from the morning.. making lunchtime refuelling just another part of the day to look forward to. What’s in your breakfast bowl?
