My morning routine has been slipping…
Over the past few months, I’ve been so busy. Too busy in-fact. So busy juggling work and daily life that I let my morning routine slip. Somedays rushing out the door with barely the chance to eat a decent breakfast before I get to work.
In the past few weeks, I’ve taken a little time out of my normal working pattern, and this has been amazing giving me time to stop and think about my morning lifestyle routine, and ways in which I could improve this so that it’s more inline with what I feel would be a healthier and happier way to start the day.
I decided to start with writing down what would be my perfect start to the day, and then I made a plan for doing this. This made for two important shifts within myself. First in that, I was now excited to wake up, and second, I was now going to practice starting the day, the way I wanted to. Which is actually a very powerful way to start.
My updated routine includes, waking up at a reasonable time, eating a healthy breakfast with a cup of herbal tea (Currently peach and pear green tea). Meditating for 15 minutes, then getting my exercise mat out to do a full body stretch. Finally finishing up with writing a blog post… This makes me happy.
